Top Habits of Achievers

You have the heart and the desire to achieve, but maybe some of your habits are holding you back from the success you desire. You can learn the top habits of achievers but if you do not follow the knowledge up with action then success will always be just beyond your reach. Are you willing to do what you need to do?

"Every behavior you participate in
will have a consequence."
-Brian Tracy

Remember that a habit is something that you need to make yourself do, some are easy to adopt, but some may be tedious at first so you need to do things or arrange things to remind you to do them. Once you embed the habit and the willingness to adopt the habit into your subconscious then it truly becomes a routine habit.

Here now are the 15 most important habits of achievers;

1. You can't manage time, but you can manage what you do in that time. There are only so many hours in the day, and losing a few minutes here and a few minutes there adds up. To stay focused and productive, end each day by writing down the six most important things you have to do the next day and then follow your list.

2. Plan your time well in advance. Keeping an updated calendar will help you avoid conflicts and be more efficient in allocating your time. Make sure you schedule some personal time too.

3. Make a plan for where you want to go. By writing down your mission and vision, you’ll have a goal to work toward and a game plan to keep you on the right path.

4. Get proper rest and be an early-riser. By rising early, you can get a leg up on everybody and take advantage of the early morning hours when everything is peaceful and quiet.

5. Know the difference between good fear and bad fear. Use good fear to encourage you to take stronger action and eliminate bad fear by not worrying about things you have no control over. Worrying is about as useful as solving an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum

6. Have well-defined short, medium and long-term goals. They should be specific, measurable, achievable and compatible. Post them somewhere or keep them with you and review them daily even if only for a quick minute.

7. Avoid busy work. Don’t let idle chitchat, paper shuffling and busywork bog you down. Focus on your goals and eliminate what gets in the way.

8. Be very organized. By keeping your desk clean, organizing your files and using checklists, you can squeeze out more hours from your work day. Extend this to your personal life too.

9. Be a great communicator. By improving your communication skills, you’ll make a better connection with your clients and prospects, which, in turn, will lead to more business.

10. Be health conscious. Being a top achiever requires energy and stamina. Regular exercise and a healthy diet will make you feel good, improve your confidence and give you the fuel to keep going when everyone else is falling by the wayside.

11. Do you have a burning desire to succeed? You can work smart, have discipline and be knowledgeable, but if you don’t have a burning desire to succeed, you’ll fall short of your potential. Burning desire comes from within, spend some time identifying what it is you want in life, Put all your energy and resources behind this habit of achievers.

12. Motivate others. Success is best when it is shared. Motivating others and helping them reach their hopes, dreams and aspirations will go a long way towards helping you reach yours.

13. Practice the fundamentals. By staying focused on the basics, you can position yourself for the big breakthroughs.

14. Are you spiritual? A top habit of achievers is allowing themselves to have faith in a higher being and follow a path toward enlightenment.

15. Continually seek wisdom. The minute you close your mind to learning is the minute you start to atrophy your brain. A top habit of achievers is to constantly learn from others and realize you'll never know it all.

"If a man should conquer in battle
a thousand and a thousand more,
and another should conquer himself,
his would be the greater victory,
because the greatest of victories
is the victory over oneself."
-Buddha

Take the action you need to take to develop these habits of achievers. Remember, if you want to succeed at attaining your desire, it is likely you will have to make some changes in your life to do it. As always, the only person who benefits is you!
